Retinol cream and Vitamin A are both one in the same. Retinol is just a Vitamin A based molecule. I use retinol and the stuff has been great at clearing out my pores, evening out discoloration, treat active acne and takes care of the pesky fine lines that love taking up residency on my forehead. So if you are needing to fade old acne scars this is definitely a great item to start out with. I currently use one from RoC.
