Break outs after Accutane.

I finished Accutane in November and in January I started breaking out, not cystic acne, but annoying whiteheads. I am concerned because they are slowly increasing in number AND they are breaking out in the same areas where I broke out before this whole ordeal. Also, my skin is incredibly oily now, unlike my beautiful, dry skin that I had during accutane. My skin care routine is very simple, I use cetaphil gentle cleanser and moisturizing lotion. Both recommended by my dermatologist. I bought stridex salicilyc pads for sensitive skin that I swipe my face with every night before moisturizing but they are of little help. Are there any steps I can take to control oil production and fight these break outs?

Well for one make sure you're not using ANY makeup with oil in it. I had the same problem. Although my problem was that I didn't finish the year of it. I've heard of a lot of cases when people have done it more than once or twice although that's not what I recommend. But you should definitely go back and talk to your dermatologists. I don't know about those pads you are using but that stuff usually broke me out even more. I'd say to get yourself the cetaphil foam that's even more sensitive for acne prone skin and to help the oils on your face. Goodluck. I'm sorry you have to go through this trust me. I've been there. Suffered with bad acne since elementary.

It sounds to me like your problems are hormonal. If so, nothing you use on your face is going to work. I had the same issues before when I was on the nuva ring for birth control. My doctor switched me to yaz (which is clinically proven to help acne) and I have no breakouts at all anymore.

I don't wear makeup on my face, usually mascara in my eyes and a lipstick. But I will wait out and see what happens, maybe it will go away on its own. I feel like I was jinxed. I went to my friends house and everyone was commenting on my skin, next week I broke out :'(
