Does the straight hold a curl if I wanted to curl it? is there a difference in quality? help?? thank you!

Body wave holds curls a long time! And when you wet it it waves up again. I had Peruvian body wave and I miss it dearly! I have some straight hair in right now and it doesn't hold a tight curl like I like. But it will do.
