Hi girls, I'm new to the whole contouring thing and I wanted to know what you would recommend for contouring cream wise and also a primer? How also do you blend it in to perfection? I have a heart shape face and fair skin.

Illamasqua's Cream Pigment in Hollow is very nice. Personally I prefer powder (Love the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder) but with cream I apply it before foundation with my fingers which I find that helps it blend. I tend to use relatively light foundations though so I'm not sure how it would work if you use something more full coverage.
And primer wise I really like the Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer. Or on the lower end I like the Max Factor Facefinity primer.

Powder products are easier to blend if you're a beginner. If I could get it in Italy I'd already have Kevyn Aucoin's sculpting powder.
Perfect blending can be achieved with practice and lots of patience, and most of all with the right brushes, which vary depending on what product you decide to buy.
Primers: what do you need your primer for? Color correcting, pore filling, foundation longevity, radiance? (Or is it for your eyelids?)

To fill my pores, I like both Rimmel Fix and Perfect in 002 and Smashbox photo finish pore minimizing.

What I is very simple. I use a darker shade of Marc Jacobs Concealer, it's creamy and perfect to blend. I use it to contour my face (under cheecks, forehead, chin, and nose) and then I blend it wish my foundation in my skin color shade (I use Dior foundation) with a brush, sponge, or even my fingers sometimes. And then I use a highlighter on top to highlight the other areas.

I feel like contouring it's best to just practice :) soon enough you'll find a way that suits you best. Try to apply your contouring in good lighting and always check it in natural sunlight before you go out to make sure you haven't gone overboard :p

Hi Kelsey, why do you want cream? Have you worked with powder contours?
Powders are easier to work with and are beginner friendly. Creams are a lil more difficult so I would consider getting powder instead of cream.
That blending to perfection comes practice... Soooo yeah practice.
Get something that's not too dark for your face.

I just like the finish of cream a little more and my skin can be quite dry, I haven't tried with powders yet

When you think of powder don't think of applying powder like a powdered donut looks like. That's not the idea at all. You can use powder to set the foundation very lightly. Cream is more complicated to work with because it's easy to make it look muddy and not very flattering. Don't take people on YouTube so serious either.
