A colorful eye makeup experiment.

I have been on a color frenzy lately, and I thought I would try an eye makeup look using pink. I use all my bright colors from urban decay electric palette because I honestly am amazed at the pigmentation. Anyway, I used the color Savage from the palette with red brick and coral from Mac cosmetics to give a gradient effect towards the inner corner of the eye. Initially I thought I was going for a fresh spring eye makeup look, but it ended up being more bold. Well, not more bold because bright colors are already bold to begin with, but I guess what I meant is it turned to be a dark makeup look with a pop of color. I accidentally used too dark of a transition color from the Kat Von D shade and light eye palette, I should've used the lighter brown in the palette but I ended up really liking it because the dark brown does make it more wearable. One thing I have to mention though, with bright colors I find that using a pencil brush to blend the colors together work best. It's small, but very dense so that you have more control at what you're working with. Note that I didn't want to over blend the colors so the colors are still bright, so a pencil brush does the trick!

A closer look at the eye.

Does anyone have the electric palette? If not, what palette do you use for your pops of colors?

Other products:

it cosmetics brow power pencil: I love the color on this its just like the ABH pomade in blonde but a lot easer and faster to apply lol

Inner corner highlight: I think I used urban decay sin

House of lashes in iconic: the band is so thick and I'm not sure the boldness of the falsies matches my small eyes.

Transition colors: Kat Von d shade and light eye in solas

Such a pretty look Livi! I can never get pinks to look this pink! I think the dark transition shade looks great with this look and I think if the bottom lash line was less dark then this would be a perfect day time spring look :)

Sabrina, thank you! That is probably what happened in the process haha! I was like what happened?! I think next time I should use the pink for the lower lash line, duh lol silly me! Btw, I think the pink looks that pink is because the texture is not powdery at all, it's almost like cream I guess!

Uhh or a coral on the lower lash line! That could be cute! And all so great information on this post, super helpful :)

Livi, I have the electric palette, I do love it, for pops of color I also use the Vice 2 palette, Too Faced Sugar Pop, but mostly I find myself reaching for my Makeup Geek shadows for color. I have all the currently released Makeup Geek shades and they are incredible.

Livi that's beautiful! Thanks for all the tips I'm currently trying colorful eyeshadows too but they get kinda muddy and don't photograph well xC. How do you photograph yours? My makeup never shows up on pics.

Love it your eyes are pretty and I've liked the eye liner it is thin but it look pretty good with the eye and your eye lashes are so so pretty for the eye brow are very natural.

Iline and Chelsea , thank you for kind compliment!

Kelly, I am secretly wishing to order the MUG eyeshadows since Kathryn recommended them to me. The swatches are amazing!! But I don't know how to convince my husband LOL.

Sophia thank you!

Kattya, first let me say I love your name! So unique and just rolls off the tounge when I say it! I use the Sony a5100 to photograph all my pictures. You can tell from my photos on here the difference. I used an iPhone before and it never ever showed the true colors of the eyeshadows. It is kind of expensive but honestly it is a really good quality camera with almost all the aspects of a DSLR but in compact form. I highly recommend it!

Thank you Gege! I do like my eyeliner thin, I have small eyes and my right eye is more hooded (lol). if I put a thick eyeliner on you can't see my eyeshadows, and I look like a panda, hehe!

This is one of the best posts I've seen! I'm a makeup newbie so all the detail was super helpful! It looks gorgeous! I absolutely love it! I also highly suggest the Sugar Pop palette for color if you want pops of color.
