An unfiltered and full picture of your face would be better :)
I personally wouldn't buy a contour KIT as you are only using it on yourself, many of the shades would be wasted. I recommend the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder, as it is made primarily for sculpting or contouring your face. Many contour kits are warm-toned and basically glorified matte bronzers. Far too orange for contouring, as a contour should mimic the natural shadows on your face.

Kind of hard to see your face shape when only have of your face is in the picture at an angle, to be honest.
I haven't gotten a contour kit yet but I am planning on getting the Kat Von D Shade + Light kit because I've heard it's very blendable, smooth, and the shades are much more cool toned than some other contour kits (such as the ABH kit).
To contour you take a contour shade and apply it where you want to create a shadow (under the cheekbones, sides of the nose, under the chin and jawline, etc). You want it to be blended so it doesn't look like a stripe of product on your face.
