Shampoo and condition as little as possible, I've gotten to a point where I do it every 3 months tops and my hair has never been healthier. Also use oil based shampoo or soap when you do wash. I like Dr. Bronner's Castile liquid soaps.

If your hair has any split ends, cut them off. they will continue splitting up to the roots.
don't brush your hair when it's wet. this can cause breakage which will eventually make your hair appear frizzy.
use hair masks once a week. I use deep conditioning treatments and olive oil.
don't wash your hair every day. this will dry out your hair.

I use mayonnaise mixed with lemon juice and olive oil on my hair about once a week.. You just mix it together and put it on slightly damp hair before you wash it. Leave it in for about 15 minutes and then wash out and use shampoo. You will not believe how amazing your hair will look and feel :)

I do use a treatment mask since tonight because I'm doing everything I can to get it healthy. I'm using the dove one as a conditioner

Do you use any hair masks? I think your hair would recover within a month.
