I have dry skin and am looking for a pressed setting powder that isn't matte. I use foundation that makes my face look dewy and I like to set it with a bit of powder, but so often the powder undoes the effect that the foundation has. It seems like most pressed powders highlight the fact that it makes your skin look matte. I want my skin to look luminous.

I'm not sure if there's a such thing as a non-matte setting powder. The whole point of setting powders is to mattify you and make your foundation stay longer.. Maybe you could just set it and use a highlighter to give you a luminous effect(:

I agree with Alyssa, the whole point of a powder is to be matte. Maybe you could use a setting spray instead?

You don't need to set your make up with powder if you have dry skin! You might only want to use setting spray. Use some highlight :) that would look really nice and it will make your features stand up. Won't make your face look flat :)

Use a setting spray instead of a powder.
I love using the UD all nighter

The Make Up For Ever setting spray is fabulous! It's actually kind of moisturizing so it helps keep the dewy look :)

Actually, that's incorrect. Any mineral based powder will not be 100% matte, because Pure mineral products will always have some shimmer in them. I really like micabella powder foundation it is 100% mineral and it is very lightweight. It has shimmers which translate to more of a subtle glow as opposed to making you look super sparkly. It's a bit more pricey but it's absolute worth it for the quality and it lasts forever :)

One of the shades from the Hour glass ambient light palette might ne what you're looking for. The are finishing powders that add a subtle glow and me enough to set your makeup if you have dry skin.

After trying normal finishing powders and hating them, I got the too faced invisible candlelight glow powder, works like a gorgeous dream!

Thanks for the great suggestions. Even though my skin is dry, I still like to set the foundation for staying power, kind of like putting an invisible shield over the top to keep it from settling into lines and just over-all staying power. Because matte is the "in" look now, I appreciate the suggestions for the powders that aren't pressed. Now, which one to try!? I have tried the sprays. The ones that aren't for combo and oily skin seem to be too sticky.

I agree with a finishing powder that claims to be luminous or give you a lit from within glow. Jacqueline and Brittanys suggestions are perfect. I use Tarte smooth operator powder bc that's what I have atm and as long as I only use it where I need it, I would say my look is still very luminous and healthy. (Which at my age is my goal as well :))

I had pretty good results with Maybelline age rewind the perfector which is a pressed powder with primer inside (not sure why the primer at the end of your makeup routine?) however it does seem to keep it from being chalky and making my very dry skin worse.

I think that the selfie powders from Too Faced would be perfect for you because they will give you only a subtle glow, less than a highlight but more than a typical setting powder.

Has anyone tried the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Pressed Powder?

I agree with Brittany, I've recently started using a loose mineral powder and my god I love it lol, I always feel flat when I use other matte powders but the mineral one always leaves a nice glow on my also dry skin haha :)
