Cruelty free products

Recently I've wanted to get into only using cruelty free makeup products after having my eyes opened into what goes on behind the scenes and how horrendous animal testing is. In doing so I will be throwing out all my makeup that tests on animals so I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good cruelty free brands? Xx

I just started buying cruelty free makeup as well. it's so terrible what they do :( I just some really good stuff from lush. it's expensive but so worth it.

Check Parent Company's. Often a brand does not test, but their Parent Company or suppliers do. Look for the bunny.

Lush actually had a lot of makeup and everything they make is cruelty free! I've so far tried their mascara, translucent powder and foundation and loved ALL of them!

Oh and lush isn't cruelty free, although they say so.
So if your looking to buy cruelty free I wouldn't buy anything from Lush.
It's hard to know which brands are actually cruelty free and aren't lying just to get more money.

According to the peta website lush is cruelty free. However this could just be in the EU only.

Peta is one of the most unreliable sources for information, don't trust what they say. leapingbunny is much more reliable. the issue is that most brands are connected by a parent company that may not may not have different regulations for their own brand. Like Urban Decay doesn't test on animals, and has many vegan products. but they are owned by loreal, which does test on animals. that does not,mean that urban decay products are tested on animals though.

Agreed peta is super unreliable.
Lush is also owned by a company that tests on animals.
The only brands I know are cruelty free and not owned by another company that does, or sells in China, are wet n wild, Milani, elf, melt cosmetics, occ, city color cosmetics, pixi, essence, jordana, Sonia kashuk, hard candy, and physicals formula.

Someone suggested body shop which is cruelety free but their parent company does test on animals.
