My friend told me about this yesterday. Does this actually work?? I have medium brown hair, and want to lighten the bottom of my hair to get the ombre effect. I always like to do to things the natural way without chemicals, so I thought this would me cool to try for the summer. Has anyone tried this??

I don't know if it works but I've heard that you shouldn't use lemon on your face or hair.

It will work but the colour can end up brassy and it's very drying and damaging to the hair.

You're better off bleaching and toning.

I probably wouldn't use lemon on your hair. Acidic things attract sunlight causing it to burn skin, so it could potentially really damage and dry out your hair. You can actually make a DIY chamomile shampoo which lightens your hair in the shower and it's safe and natural. Check out pinterest for some recipes.

It does work on my hair. I have dirty blonde hair and it made it blonder a couple summers ago but I had to do it a LOT. I wouldn't recommend it though it makes hair feel like straw.

You can use the John Frieda shampoo that lightens your hair safely. it smells good too and it's sold at ulta.
