So I've been losing hair like CRAZY for quite some time now. I've talked to my doctor about it and she said it should be normal. But it's only gotten worse since then and it's so embarrassing when "I found your hair on my (insert noun)." becomes too normal. It's really bad. Like I'll brush my hair and the sink is completely covered with enough hair to make a cat wig. Any ideas on what it could be or how to help slow it down?

If it's more than normal, then go back and ask for a blood test.
If it's been this way as long as you remember (150-250 is the average hair losses per day but it can go higher depending on your hair) then don't worry about it. My sister got crappy hair genes and she loses like 500 hairs a day (that might be an exaggeration but it's a lot more than anyone else in the house) and it's normal for her to brush her hair and then have to unclog the sink. At least no one people think of you when they find your hair, and really at least their not going "I found your hair in my underwear" my family says that to me a lot, since it's so long it can fall and get caught on their pants lol and when we wash clothes it often ends up one of them had my hair in it and now it's woven through. Mostly underwear lol.
But if it's a drastic change, go to the doctor again. If it's just normal for your hair, there's not much to do about it

Go to the doctor again
I was recommended by my doctor to take vitamin B12 and that's helping, but talk to your doctor first

I lost quite a bit of hair when I went vegan for a year, and I took biotin and which helped.

Thanks for helping me. If it gets worse than it currently is I'll bring it up to the doc again and try some of those supplements you recommend.

It's possible it is not a thyroid or homonal issue (which is what your doctor would check) but could be anxiety/stress related. This happens to me occasionally, and I swear by Nioxin 3 step treatment. You must use it as directed, and don't expect it to work overnight. But if this is the issue, given a little time you will see results

I have been losing hair like crazy for 4 years now. I used to have so many hair like wow but they can't go any thinner :(. I have used almost everything, hair masks, professional shampoos, pills etc.and no change but I think I get it from stress and if not then its in the genes :(. You need to believe its ok to have hairloss otherwise it will make you sad like never before. As they say its all in the mind. Good luck

I'd seek an Endocrine specialist if my hair loss was that excessive. It is often a symptom of thyroid isdues, vitamin deficiencies...or even heredity and stress. They will run a complete blood panel. In the meantime, get a Wet Brush and leave in conditioner..keeping heat to bare minimum. This helps reduce fall out from breakage. Are these strands..or breaks? Do you process your hair? Are you feeling different in any way physically or mentally? These should be explored.

Take B12 and follic acid. a leading cause for hair fall can be stress so relax a little. placenta treatments help as well as bay rum.
