Oh, it wasn't pink on me, I was the color "Neutral beige" or something like that. If anything it was yellowish.

I'm in the UK too Lucy! I'd suggest Clarins 'skin Illusion spf10' foundation and Urban Decay Naked Skin.
I'm very pale and they have colours light enough for me :) I have dry patches and they don't stick :)

I'd check out Bobbi Brown skin foundation or the YSL touche eclat. I'm pale too and can find a match in both these lines.
