Hi! I am hoping to get some advice with skincare. I'm oily dehydrated and I have been trying to get clear beautiful skin but haven't had luck. I have minimal pimples but my skin appears dull, rough patches, oily, and red spots that look like old pimples. I also have dry patches around my eyes.
Does anyone have suggestions?

For starters Dermalogica makes a moisturizer called active moist that is made to moisturize skin that produces excess oil...back of tube pic.

For dry rough skin that looks dull, I would suggest a chemical exfoliant. Maybe Nip Fab glycolic acid pads or Peter Thomas Roth peel pads. I also like the Ole Henriksen night resurfacing gel. For old acne scars, the exfoliation will help as well as a good vitamin c serum such as the Ole Henriksen truth serum.

For dryness around the eye area invest in a good eye cream for day and if you want a separate, richer one for night. I like Mario Badescu hyaluronic eye cream in the am and at night Ole Henriksen night time firming eye gel:)

I just noticed I suggested mostly items I've been gifted or saved up to splurge on lol! If you are looking for drugstore options just let me know. I've got a shopping problem so I have plenty recommendations on those as well!

Thank you so much Angela! I will take all the help I can get! Do you know of good secrets for puffy eyes? I seem to have them every morning regardless of how much sleep I get.

Try the Kate somerville collection face washes, face creams, and scrubs... I decided to invest into 1 of each and before I used to wear foundation because I had very deep pores and uneven skin and small pimples everywhere. And I kid you not my skin is so beautiful and thanks to Kate somerville. I never wear foundation, Concealer, or primers ever now because I changed my skin care regime. I also made a big change to what I eat and drink 2 times the water you already drink, because this helps make the process faster and gives you better results! I hope this helps:)

I use Ole Henriksen eye gel for daytime on days mine are puffy. That or the Garnier cc eye roller. It's cooling and has a bit of color correcting tint to it:)

My skin used to be a disaster, but little by little I've changed my skincare routine and I get compliments on my skin all the time now! (Which I never in a million years would've thought would happen as bad as it was) I'm almost 33 and got asked for a hall pass at my stepdaughters HS LMAO!

The beauties above gave you awesome product advice. I'm with Nat about the eating habits...its true...what you put in your mouth is reflected on your skin. I'm a big believer in that and follow it myself. I'm a big fan of glycolic acid serums because they keep my pores free of gunk plus it also fades any scars due to acne. Most recently I had a long overdue professional facial and I forgot about how long lasting the results are. Extractions took care of congested areas and with good moisture infused back into my skin I noticed that my oil production has been reduced. I don't look like an oil slick at the end of the day. Something worth considering if you can make the investment.

Shelley, what are your favorite glycolic acid serums? I love me a good serum especially ones to even out my skin tone & fade discolorations

I love the one's from Renee Rouleau. I've tried one from Peter Thomas Roth in 10% a few years ago but I always come back to Renee Rouleau. And with her formula a little goes a long way because her ingredient list doesn't read like a book. Another beauty on BL loves the glycolic line from Paula's Choice.

Try out Paulas's choice products! they have a sample for everything so you don't have to go ahead and spend the big bucks on something that might not work for your skin. I'd say that you should definitely try out a BHA and an AHA (salicylic acid and alpha hydroxy acids) BHA works well for oily skin and exfoliates the layers underneath so it's fantastic for pimples, acne, blackheads and pores. AHA exfoliates the top layer of your skin and improves signs of aging, sun damage and uneven skintone. BHA's are hard to find and I believe Alpha Hydrox makes decent AHA's, but I'll definitely recommend Paula's choice the customer service is great and they have articles to help :) hope I helped!

Kristen, I use Monsia Skincare and whilst I was browsing the web yesterday I noticed that they have added this product line monsia-acne-treatment-system - which may or may not be worthwhile you looking at.
