I stopped wearing face makeup last week, but continue to wear makeup for my brows & eyes. I am fifteen years old, so I know that some acne is inevitable, but I know it could improve. I've been cutting out all beverages but water and I usually drink about 4-8 8oz glasses every day and eat plenty of produce. I also wash my face every morning and every night and get quality rest. Is there anything else I could be doing?

How is your skin care routine? Do you use products suited for young acne prone skin?

Well IDK if this helps but I'm about to start drinking detox juices and waters to help with my skin and overall health. you could try that. but honestly you're 15. I think acne at that age is mostly hormonal and completely normal so don't worry too much about it.

Keep drinking more and more water, cleanse, tone, moisturize, and use a spot treatment!

You are on the right path thus far. Just realize that results do not occur overnight and patience is key. Another thing you infuse into your program is probably a clarifying mask...one that will help keep your skin surface free of junk so it doesn't clog your pores.

I've heard washing your face with coconut oil helps. Also EXFOLIATE! Mine got sooo much better when I started doing that. I'm 15 as well.

What are you using to wash your face.

Well I don't wear makeup at all unless I have a dance recital and or my friend decides they want to play with my face like in my profile picture. reducing the amount of makeup you wear can really help clear up skin and so can consuming water. Try to find a product that is good for your skin type and if you have sensitive skin refrain from using regular soap to wash your face. aim for a soapless soap. sounds crazy but its real. soap used animal fats while Soapless soaps are chemically engendered to clean without animal fats. (dove, Olay, and Cetaphil) Cetaphil is great for daily use on sensitive skin and it does the trick. if you're looking for a product that is for acne treatment I'm for something with a low dose of acne medicine so it doesn't dry out your face (Clearasil works well) good luck :3

Thanks to everybody for helping! To answer some questions, I wash my face with First Aid Beauty's Deep Cleanser (Sephora find made with red clay). I moisturize with Pond's cream moisturizer and/or Cetaphil. I also occasionally use astringents/toners as well as a Bioré charcoal bar.

I keep hearing about people clearing up acne by cutting out dairy. Maybe that's something that could help you with your skin.

I used to have really bad acne and went around and tried all this stuff and one day I ended up at the body shop asking if she had any hints and helpful tips to get rid of redness and acne and the lady gave me the tea tree oil range for blemished skin and I swear by this stuff. In pretty much two days I started seeing results, my redness had gone down and haven't had a pimple in a month. I started using this back in December and I'm no where near finished, it really lasts a long time.
