Hi so I've had acne for 3 years. Its just now that I went to the derm because it was getting worse. They perscriped birth control and Retin A. I wondering if anybody had taken it or have heard good things about it.

It is definitely the best skincare treatment I have ever tried. It got rid of my acne, scarring, prevented breakouts, etc. The best thing is that you get results very quickly! The only downside is that you might experience dryness, redness or flaking. However, stick to it and promise you won't regret it :)

Does it have vitamin A in it?

Retin A is vitamin a. It didn't help me with my acne so I went on Accutane, a pill version of Retin A.

I am thinking it might depend on how severe your acne is?

I've used retin a but I didn't use it everyday because I'm lazy lol, the birth control can make you gain weight so watch out

I should have mentioned my acne was never severe - my acne was really mild, I broke out from time to time but didn't have consistent skin issues. Retin A definitely has been helping me but I do think it depends on the severity / type of acne and stuff. Sorry I should have said that lol :)

Not all birth control will make you gain weight just so you know. Tretinoin is not the same thing but I have hella sensitive skin and that even at the lowest possible prescription, made me look like I took a nose dive In concrete. I recently found a recipe that is all natural that has actually cleared my acne. I have tried everything but nothing works as good as this. Go to my page and you should be able to see the recipe, I put it in a talk. If you have trouble let me know and I will post it here.

@Christa...Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A...its just a generic name for the more well-known brand names...such as Retin-A, Retin A micro, Renova so in essence it is the same thing.

If you want to tread on the side of caution and not get a prescription for Retin A you can always go the drugstore route. RoC has a retinol formula for sensitive skin. I use the regular version at night and it does a good job at keeping the pesky acne away and if I do get an unexpected visitor it speeds up its demise fairly quickly.
