I do not suggest the braids! Although they work on some people ,other like me it just makes your hair frizzy huge and crumpled. I would use curlers they are underestimated in my option

What works for me is a Dutch braid and then put it in a bun. More crimped effect but it goes all the way to my roots ("curls")

Braids have never worked for me. I recommend using flexi rods, if you can get them.

I second the flexi rods. I bought some last week to try out and couldn't believe how nicely they curled my hair! The curls also lasted for 3 days for me since I put my hair into a "pineapple" and wrapped it in a silk scarf for sleeping.

Rope braids
