That Meme tho, LOL! That's exactly how I be looking :D

Fecal matter and herpes? I mean come on ppl. I never trust articles unless from a reliable source.

I'm really serious about the cleanliness and care of my brushes. I wash them every single time their used w/Dr. Bronner magic soap put them in my Sigma shape n' dry propped up on an angle, immediately after drying they go into my brush roll and are stored in a place where there's no chance of an accident happening to my precious babies <3

There are spatulas, disposable mascara wands and other disposable make up tools. I clean my brushes and disinfect them with alcohol.

There was an article here in Australia where a women borrowed her friends make up brush to conceal a pimple. Her friend had a staff (not sure how you spell it) infection and now the women who borrowed it is paralyzed from the waist down from it. I never use others make up or brushes. I'd rather look like crap then risk my health at all. Poor lady.

I used to share mascara, eye liner and powder! I look back and cringe at the fact.

I read a story about a female getting a staph infection from sharing a makeup brush, it attacked her spine, and it paralyzed her landing her in a wheel chair. Makeup brushes definitely harbor bacteria, of course, but it's everywhere. Still wouldn't share things though lol and I clean them more often now just because I feel like it's gross not to

I actually clean mine after every use or before every use if I know I'll be wearing makeup a certain day. I don't wear makeup everyday so I don't feel like I'm over cleaning them but I can't apply my foundation with an already dirty brush.

Lol I don't think it's as serious as herpes and whatnot, but definitely serious enough to clean them every couple weeks at the least. They definitely harvest a little bacteria but I feel like if fecal matter were flying in the air enough to get on your brush when you use it, there would be a lot more sick people, you know? I feel like that would've been a big ordeal by now..

I think as long as you clean and disinfect, they won't have too much bacteria. That is crazy though.

Idk about herpes, but anything is possible. I clean them at least once a week with make up brush shampoo. They can probably still harbor a little bacteria.
