Nope. You can use loreal hicolor permanent highlights and it'll lighten it right up. They have various shades of reds. All you need is that and some 30 developer and you're set :) can be bought at Sally's. I've had everything from fire truck red hair to burgundy and that's what I use. Works like a charm.

Yes you will unfortunately have to bleach your hair to get that colour but make sure it's 100% what you want so that the damage is atleast worth it. Go to a professinal hair dresser because they will do it perfectly don't do it yourself as you might burn your hair so much that it can snap. Just a reminder if you want burgundy hair you will need to keep maintaining it and dye it more than usual because red is the fastest colour to fade out. Always use cool water to wag your burgundy hair so that the fading is not as much and also get a burgundy colour depositing shampoo and conditioner. But think about it before hand the upkeep of burgundy hair is more damaging than any other hair colour because you have to keep processing it and refreshing the colour.
