I recently started straightening my hair, and whenever I do, it's never pin straight. I use 350 degree heat, and my hair is really fine, and there's not much of it, I'm afraid if I use heat above this I'll damage it. Also whenever I do straighten my hair and it's fairly straight, it turns wavy after an hour or so. I'm wondering is this because my hair straightener isn't good quality, or is it because the place I live in is too humid.

What straightener do you use?

It's probably the humidity.

I have extremely curly hair naturally and I have the same problem! Try using John Frieda's 3 day straight while your hair is damp, and then blow dry it before you straighten it! It definitely prolongs the life of my straight hair to one or two days which is miraculous for me since I never get more than two hours. Also, try a weather proof hairspray and just spray a light layer on after you straighten your hair to protect from humidity :)

Mmkay thank you all, the heat protectant I use is technically a blow dry cream, but it's supposed to protect from heat, I didn't like the heat protectant spray I had so I used that, maybe I'll try to use a better heat protectant.

I'll also try some hairspray and see if that helps, lol I do live in a pretty humid place.

The product I posted is specifically for straightening your hair. It will keep it straightened longer than a blow dry cream will. You're welcome!

I would say it's the hair straightners I use to have this problem and thought it was just my hair it would be straight after I did it then and hour later it was wavy then I got some GHD's and the difference was just amazing now my hair stays straight all day and even for two days considering my hair is naturally curly/wavy I think that's amazing :)

I think it's the humidity because that shouldn't happen. What I recommend is going through each strand twice to make sure it does look straight and you can use a heat protectant so that your hair does not damage as much. I also recommend adding some hair oil to your hair after you straighten it just a small amount through out your entire hair which will keep it from going wavey or frizzy I recommend an oil called chrystalli and also the Moroccan Aragon oil.

Hmmmm I can't figure out if it's because the humidity or not, imma be bummed if it's the straightener, I might return it and get a more expensive one if that's the case.

I live in Hawaii in a very humid place so that could be it, but when I do straighten it in the humid place I leave right after to go to school, so I'm not sure
