I think with the elf brushes and coastal scents brushes, they are a hit and miss. Nonetheless, most are decent. I would suggest the real techniques brushes. I think those are really great quality, very soft bristles and they are synthetic if you want to be animal friendly.

I'd go with Real Techniques and Eco Tools. They're affordable and great quality. Both are synthetic so they'll work with any product you want to use. I've never had mine shed or lose shape.
