You might have to tease it, but you might not, just pull the section that you want "poofed" then push it forward a tad!

I just had a dance competition with the same hairstyle! I just pulled a section from the front straight up then using a comp teased behind it. After that you just push it a bit forward then put a couple bobby pins behind to secure it and a lot of hairspray.

Hmm, I think a product to help with volume would be helpful too like redken powder grip or their wax bladt to help give it some texture/thickness where you wang ghe poor to help it stay where you want it.
