What exactly do you mean? Definitely care. Don't wash so often, use little to no heat, treatments, masks, trimming split ends, etc. That way your hair is growing out healthy. If you use the search bar, you'll find tons of informative threads that have been made about this specific topic as well as lots of others.

If you want to grow your hair out trim it a little bit once each month. The more you trim it the more it will grow.its because the roots become more healthier. So if you cut the end of our hair the split ends will go away.

Don't trim it monthly or anything, just when you get split ends, if you constantly trim it, you'll be cutting off any growth you get. Care for your hair, prevent split ends and you won't have to cut your hair so often.
