Let's get back on track and answer Beth's question...
@Beth...your sis might be having issue with an ingredient called carmine...also goes by cochineal extract or natural red 4. Some other possible culprits...bismuth oxychloride, mica, aluminum silicate, iron oxides. She really won't know the exact cause unless she goes in for an allergy test at a dermo office...aka "the prick test." Cosmetic lines worth checking out for your sis...
* 100% Pure...I've been watching this company grow and they are gaining in popularity. Their products do not contain synthetic chemicals nor paragons, detergents, sulfates artificial fragrance or FD&C colors. Earth's Beauty is another line as well that doesn't contain synthetics.

I have such sensitive skin, so always need to be careful with what products I put on my skin, I think that's what got me into natural based products - I researched a bit and found Younique which I then fell in love with <3.

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody knew of any good makeup that has no metal in it what so ever. I want to get my sister some makeup because she likes to wear it and all she has is a black gel liner and lipsticks. She is allergic to the metals that they put in most makeup.

Are you talking about Mica? Metals aren't exactly used in cosmetics, if I remember correctly...a lot of "metals" are made in labs to resemble metals and have similar properties, but they're made in labs because they can be formulated without harmful carcinogens and things. We don't use REAL mica in cosmetics (at least, most cosmetics, as I've been lead to believe) we use a synthetic mica that mimics the chemical makeup of real mica, minus all the bad stuff.

Hmmmm I wouldn't doubt it really it's good to be cautious and do research. Considering how many elements are considered metals that seems very possible. Also remember that metal is not necessarily a huge block of silver

Iron is a metal. It is one of the three magnetic metals/elements. There are bits of metal in everything. Traces at least. So some brands will be worse than others. It depends on the quality and the location it was produced in, etc. So yes, there are metals and most makeups and products will have traces. In addition, not everything on the Internet is wrong. Also, not every single ingredient is required to be listed, especially if it is considered trace or a contaminant.

Well I knew about lead. But I was thinking legit metal pieces in the makeup, if that was a thing, I would've heard about it a long time ago. Lead, no doubt. I hope you find something for your sister, Beth! Definitely do your research!

She is allergic to the shimmery and things that are metallic-y (spelling?) I have bought her other gel liners and was assured that they didn't have any metallics or anything in them but her eyes went all red and swollen after just one day of wearing it.

Lead is in everything, but cosmetics made in North America are required to put less lead in things. Less than 2% of what used to be in it from 2010. There are laws against it now, because drugstore products who use cheapest manufacturers that weren't able to skip bad products (I don't remember the exact ingredient but one of them if it contained to much lead, which varried, they were supposed to throw it away, but most drugstore companies that had cheaper manufacturer and chemists wouldn't check because if they threw it away it costed them.) Now it's required and government does checks, by stopping by the factory and testing. There's been a few brands that have been banned from using certain ingredients because they weren't safety checking them. Rimmel is one of them, which is why in the past few years their lipsticks have completely changed. Limecrime is in a similar battle, but doe deere is lying out her ass and saying she didn't know. They've been finding non vegan ingredients and some unlisted ingredients in their products, including bacteria growth from not having sanitary factories. This was all found because doe deere uploaded an instagram video or her ungloved pouring lipstick into molds.
It has zero to do with trying to kill people off. Even in the 60's when lipstick contained over 50% lead particles in it, you'd have to eat like thousands of lipsticks for it to even make a noticeable number on a blood test. It's just trying to use as little money to make as much product as possible to sell.
But either way, get your sister to look at the ingredients online and on the boxes. Avoid (and if you're in North America report it- I don't know about the laws in other continents) any products that have any differing ingredients. They are required by law to list all known ingredients they put into a product. If any contamination happens and they know about it and don't recall the products, they can get in tons of legal trouble and can be banned from using the ingredients that got contaminated or be shut down.

I think this post may have been taken to an extreme. Completely off topic. Basically, you can look into "organic" makeup brands. However, there will be contaminants in everything, such as bottled water, or going to a restaurant that has to post a sign saying may contain nuts because nuts are processed in the same facility. So... You can check the products abs probably cross it online, but maybe try the product on her neck or wrist before her eyes. Just a thought?
