i never used moisturizer because i never saw it necessary (thought it was for much older people i guess?) but after reading a recent thread on here...it seems to be quite the opposite!
IF it is necessary, can anyone tell me a good one for starters? an inexpensive brand that works as well? I have dry/oily skin (combination?) and regular acne.
Happy New Years ladies!

Oh wow yes, yes, yes!! Everyone should moisturize. I've been doing it since I was 9 or 10.
Clinique is decent. YonKa is amazing.
Simple brand moisturizer is cheap and doesn't have a ton of awful chemicals.
Burt's bees is also very good.

The 'yes to' line, simple, Burt bees, or Aveeno would all be good choices on the cheap

Definitely! Everyone should! I also have combination skin (oily t-zone & dry cheeks/chin) I don't specifically use a morsturizer for combo skin but my cleanser is for my specific skin type! You can try out Biore's combination skin line! It's like $5 or less so check them out! I don't really use a morsturizer spefically for my skin type but I use Clean & Clear's advantage acne control moisturizer! Also, just a side note! (this is long, sorry) you might wanna try out a scrub or face mask! I use the body shop's tea tree face mask and only apply it to the oily parts of my face!

I have oily skin and use mario badescu's oil free moisturizer SPF 30. you just need to try some different ones and find what works for you.

if you dont moisturize after washing your face over compensates for you stripping the oils by producing more oils. this is prob why you have 'regular acne' . now if you were to NEVER wash your face, you wouldnt need moisturizer but since thats pretty impractical YES!! you do need it, even if its just a very light cheap simple one like I use , dual action, from clean and clear or cetaphil.

You spritz it on your face like a water bottle. It's as light as water

ahhh thanks ladies! it's all starting to make more sense why my makeup doesn't stay on very well, never looks bright, and sometimes kinda cracks off my face (i'm guessing since it's so dry due to lack of moisture?) but i was over my sister's apt last night and got some from her bathroom cabinet. while it burned a helllllaaa lot, my skin feels softer and more vibrant! i guess i just allways thought my acne creme and face scrubs were enough :P

I would say anything that has sunscreen in it. If you want a much better product but may a little bit more money than I would recommend skin authority or Kerstin florian I have tried them both and they make ones for different skin types

Yes, you need moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin.

It seems like you may have sensitive skin if it burnt when you put on a moisturizer. If that's the case, try to get one that is fragrance free. SPF irritates my skin as well so I need to get one without it. Sometimes the salycilic acid in some acne lotions can make it burn.
