Okay so my skin has been breaking out very bad lately, like I have dark spots & all & I honestly don't know why. I drink lots of water, I wash my face in the morning & at night. I even use a black soap to help with cleaning my skin. My skin has never broke out this bad before. I want to try some at home remedies instead of going out and spending my money on a skincare product that doesn't really work. So I was wondering has anyone tried any home remedies for their skin & if so, how did it work for you? What did you use? Did you notice a change in your skin? Thanks.

I would advise to stay away from DIYs, honestly. Some of them include ingredients that are actually harmful to the skin so you'd be doing more harm that good anyways.
As for your skin breaking out, have you introduced any new products recently? Skincare or makeup?

I agree with alexis. Also, have you started new medications or changed your dietary habits in any way?

Well I have this rimmel primer that I used all the time to apply before I did my makeup & it gave me these little bumps everywhere on my face so I Actually stopped using it. I've recently used a elf primer on my face like a week ago & I think maybe that's what's causing me to break out now... But I only used it once.

How long have you been using the black soap? Is it pure black soap? I used to use it and it would work well for a while then break me out terribly. My skin would get really dry and burn sometimes as well. Also do you consider your skin dry or oily, sensitive or resilient?

@Ty R. I've been using it for about a year now. Yeah it does dry my skin out sometimes, but I always apply Shea butter onto my face after I finishing washing it. I've never had prblms w/ my skin burning tho. Also, I would say that my skin is kinda in between, just normal.

Drink lemon grass tea at night for 10 days straight it suppose to help clear skin.. Honestly I believe what you put inside your body & what you eat plays a role in how your skin looks. Also tea tree oil is very good for blemishes. ☺️

It could be the shae butter! When your skin is dry it naturally speeds up its oil production and using an oily or oil based moisturizer could be causing your skin to break out because of all the oil on your skin. Try and find a balance with your cleanser something more moisturizing and a lighter moisturizer. Also a toner will help balance the ph of your skin. That should help.

Hmm, Question;
Is that black soap, by any chance in a bar form?
If so, the ingredients used to keep bar soap in a bar is not only excessively drying, but highly comedogenic.
Also, Oils can help control oil production on the skin and vary in comedogencity. If you want to incorporate oil in your skin care, a non comedogenic oil such as Jojoba, Argan, Maracuja, Squalane, Rose Hip are great options. The presence of a clean, natural oil will slow down any excess oil production. Because your skin is an organ, the more you eliminate moisture the more oil it will produce to compensate for it. Including oils in your skin care can be beneficial to both dry and oily skin types. Shea Butter is not comedogenic, however shea butter is better mixed with a moisturizer since it acts more as a sealant. I recommed purchasing a proper cleanser and moisturizer. DIYs usually create more harm than good primarily because of the amount of misinformation there is on the WWW. Not to mention a lot of the funny looking ingredients listed on the back of skin care products are usually derived from nature. The only thing close to DIYs that are non irritating are incorporating oils in your skin care and using Aloe Vera Juice as a toner.

Thanks so much!! I think I'm going to try this skin care product it's about 80 bucks, but I've heard great stuff about it!! It also comes w/ a moisturizer so I'm going to leave the Shea butter alone.
