I have thick, coarse hair and I usually straighten it. After I shower, by routine, I blow-dry it. I have many heat products I use often (waver, crimper, curling irons, etc.) and I don't know how much these can damage hair.. I use CHI heat protectant, and HerStyler serum too. My hair isn't damaged now. But in the long-term, will it make my hair damaged? Please help. Thank you :)

YES. be careful how much you use heat, you need to give your hair breaks. I recommend trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks and maybe going a week with no heat, then go back the next week. on and off when ur off give ur hair a "hot" oil treatment. (I put hot in quotes because literally shouldn't be hot, it should be warmed enough where u can still handle it) ita just olive oil! I love doing this, it nourishes and protects. I usually leave it in overnight, but u can leave it for 30 mins if u wanted to. up to you. hope this helped!

honestly NEVER!. but if you must a few times a month along with a heat protective spray will do just fine. Deep conditioning regularly will also help with avoiding heat damage.

I used to use heat on my hair everyday and it looked/felt dead. Then I suddenly stopped using heat on my everyday and only once a week, I get so many compliments on how healthy and long my hair is! So try not use heat so much, your slowly killing your hair if you do

If I don't use a hot tool on my hair it just isn't near as smooth but I discovered that if I blow dry with a boar bristle brush it makes it just as smooth and tame as if I flat ironed it! Especially if I use its a 10 miracle leave in product (which is a heat protectant & is multipurpose)

the simple answer for ANYONE, is use as little heat as possible. all the time, anytime, no matter what your hair type or condition is.

I have really curly hair as well and I feel you!! When I straighten my hair I won't turn the heat all the way up because if you keep it for too long it will damage it. But after taking a shower you can put loose curlers in your hair and they will come out as really loose curls ;)
