Nail polish trouble shooting!
So I bought these essie nail polishes, applied 2 coats and let them dry then sally hansen gel topcoat. Shortly after, they started peeling.
What's your nail polish routine and what techniques do you use to stop peeling or extend the wear?

Always allow your coats to dry first before applying the next one. But if you have a layer-drying topcoat then its okay to do them all at once, one after the other.
If you want to extend the wear, make sure you also wrap the tips of your nail with the nail polish and also the top coat that you'll use.

In my experience the topcoat makes all the difference. Try Seche Vite or Essie's Good To Go and see if it changes. A good basecoat may also help.

I will have to get that top coat! Any recommendations on good basecoats?
Thanks Ariane! I normally wrap the color but not the top coat, I will have to wrap them all. Is the Seche vite a layer drying topcoat? If not, any recommendations on one?

You're Welcome Alura!
Yes, Seche Vite is a layer drying topcoat. I recommend Sally Hansen Insta-dri Topcoat (the one in the red bottle and a white cap), its similar to Seche Vite but has a longer shelf life because it doesn't thicken that fast as compared to Seche Vite

As for the basecoat, I'll recommend Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat. :)

I second the Sally Hansen in the red bottle. It's the only topcoat I will use! And I use it all the time with Essie.

Thanks! Next time I do my nails I will have to buy these items to experiment with.
