So I need help deciding on a piercing. I have my Monroe, but I'll be taking that out in a couple weeks. I've had it for 3 years, and I'm just bored of it lol. But I'm unsure of what to get done next. It's between a vertical labret (middle lower lip - left side of the picture) and a medusa (top middle lip - right side of the picture) I'd get the medusa done right above my cupids bow rather than a bit higher up and closer to the nose like some people have it. I really love both, and might get both done eventually but I will be getting one done probably the first week of February or sooner.

What do you guys think would look best on me? Here's a picture of the piercings and there's a bunch of photos of me on my profile. :)

You think so? :) I love them. They make defined lipstick look SO good. It's funny, I asked my mom which she liked better and the first thing she said was "you'd get lipstick all over the labret and end up spending even more time getting ready, lipstick would be easier with the medusa"

Thanks! I hate that about piercings, I just want so many lol. I'm sure when I take my Monroe out I'll want it back in a few months. I've got 3 piercings somewhat planned for 2015/2016 though, and only have spare money for one right now haha. I think I'm leaning towards the medusa. It's probably a lot easier to get used to and it'll be less spilled drinks lol.

I normally would say vertical labret since I think it just looks so pretty but looking at your pics you have a killer cupids bow so a Medusa would really draw attention to it :)

I'm all in for the medusa! Love that piercing ^^

I like them both. I had a medusa at one point but removed it because I was way too paranoid about it rubbing on my gums all the time. they look so nice buy my crazy paranoia gets the best of me lol. even my cheek ones touching my teeth at times freaks me out...I really like them both though. its so hard to choose.

Erica I know what you mean. My Monroe touches the top of my gums when I smile, and my dentist is very against it lol. But I've had it for 3 years and haven't noticed any difference in my gums. I have incredibly sensitive teeth too, so if there was any difference I'd notice lol. But I was talking to my dentist and he said as long as it's less than 5 years with it in, it won't do any real damage. Nothing that would be noticeable anyways. After 5 years of if you risk that area of the gums receding prematurely. But I don't keep any piercings for five years lol.

It's so hard to choose, I want both so bad but can't justify spending that much within the next like 6 months. It's already going to be like 140$+ for one depending on the jewelry I pick. But we'll see, I'm going on vacation on the 11th, and will be booking my appointment after that for the first week of February. So I'll have to make my mind up before then lol.

Holy! how come so much for one piercing. that's madness hehe!! I've been going to the same shop for years and years and its so affordable. no wonder, I couldnt afford it either lol. but I think the most expensive thing are the dermals where I go and even they are three for 150$

And my labret started causing my gums to recede so I took it out when I saw it happening than god...then my.medusa started doing the same. I'm very excited for my cheek ones to be as short as possible cause the thought of it happening again but on the sides now bugs me to no end lol.

Well right now there's only 2 piercing places I trust, and they use surgical grade products. But it's anywhere from 40-90$ per piercing. But the jewelry itself is what's expensive lol. Like when I got my Monroe done, with the tip the piercing was 70$ and the jewelry was 90$. Luckily my mom paid for that one for a Christmas gift lol. But it's definitely not cheap. My sister paid 230$ for two tongue piercings, the jewelry was 80$ each. But it's worth it, they're really good, they do free consultations if you have an infection, they give out cleaning products and the longer bar that you start with is free, so you get to keep that when you go get it changed to the smaller one. They're super good, but they're trying to be more expensive (and rightfully so) than the cheaper shops that will do everything with a piercing gun and uses plastic for the piercings and stuff. Which There's really no guidelines on, so there's tons of them. I wish they were cheaper, but at the same time I want quality over quantity lol.

The place I go to I have been going for years and they are great. where do you live? all of the jewelry is surgical steel as well and yeah the jewelry is costly but its included in the price when you get pierced. but if toy wanted different jewelry you nay pay less out more, depending on what you like or want. they are extremely professional and sanitary and the only place I will go for piercings. I live in Quebec and anyone who is a body mod lover like myself goes to see her :-) you can check out the website. www.tattoovoodoo.com

For tattoos I go somewhere else tho...only because I think when you find an amazing artist you stick with them.

I live in Edmonton. And unfortunately the place I went to (which was cheaper than the place I go to now) closed down after it was bought out, the new manager treated his employees like shit (there was strikes, and it was all over the news cause some shady stuff went down lol) but a lot of the Staff went to this place instead. So I used to go to strange city, and now I'm going to atomic zombie. Which was the more expensive larger version of strange city but now it's the best in the city and really the only piercing place that is at all sanitary or using proper equipment. But like you said, with your tattoo artist you find one you like so you stick with them. I'm the same way with everything. I go to one hair stylist, one eyebrow waxer, one piercer, lol. I have trust issues and have seen some super crooked piercings so I found my artist and am sticking with them lol.
