I don't think there is anything wrong contouring for school at all. I say where the amount of makeup that pleases you. Its about the quality of application, not necessarily the amount of product on your face.
My advice would be to shorten the length of the contour. By that I mean not to extend the line down so close to your mouth, because naturally your jaw line does not look that way.

I'm personally not a fan of contouring. For pictures it's fine, but in person it never looks good in my opinion, like from the sides. However do your makeup how you place! I agree with the above tips
