Business attire help

In February I have a public speaking presentation for a business club, points are taken off if you don't wear proper attire but all the things they say to wear are like straight up business suits, and they look awful on me and they are super pricey.
I was thinking (I didn't see anything saying it was against dress code) of wearing some black jogger style pants, black shirt, and a blue blazer, not sure about shoes though. Do you think this could work?

I can't wear.tight fitting pants unless it's a skirt or a dress, and I refuse to wear.either.

Why not get dress pants? You can get boot cut. wear a nice shirt. The pants in the picture you posted look kind of casual. Unless you really dress it up with some heels I guess.

I would wear heels. I hate dress pants, I had a uniform for 2 years and now slacks just make me cringe, and its just a one time thing so I would want something I could wear again.

Are you talking about FBLA?! Because I do too! I highly suggest going with slacks, a blazer and a white shirt. It's fool proof. Work appropriate heels or flats to go along with it! Four inches Max!

Ahhh, I am going to wear a striped office dress alone with nude heels and a black blazer! I think no so sure!
