So I have had this foundation for quite a while and really enjoy it (even did a review on it for my subscribers). I was wondering has anyone else tried this foundation and what method of application they found to work best. I don't think my method is solid because I find after a few hours of wear it settles into the fine lines of my forehead and make my undereye look cakey. And I only use the recommended one pump and I don't even finish that.

I love that foundation. I use half a pump and apply with a brush. The same thing happens to me with settling into fine lines. I've used a sponge, brushes. I've even used a brush and then tried blending with a damp sponge and it still settles. My skin is crazy oily though, so I think that has a lot to do with it.

Are you using primer underneath?

I use a primer. When I use milk of magnesia the oiliness and settling isn't that bad, but it still happens. It has been getting a lot better since I started washing my face with African black soap.

Mine settles too.!! I have 2 sisters that use is as well and are not satisfied for the same reason of settling in fine lines.... They switched back to MAC and Estée louder double wear

I think the key for most foundations is that especially full-coverage you shouldn't apply it to your whole face unless you have really bad uneven skin... I find that Kat Von D's foundation is so thick I only really apply it to my trouble areas (cheeks, forehead and chin) then blend it out and like under my eye and stuff I just use my fave concealer and my Ben Nye Banana Powder. Hope this helps, I love that foundation!

I love Kats Lock It foundation. I have tried so many brands from low to high end and finally found my HG...:-)
For application, I tried fingers, beauty blender, MAC 190, 109, 187 and 130. Imo, the 130 worked the best. The formula is very creamy and thick and really needs to be buffef into the skin for best results. I also found that a full pump was TOO much. I only use half a pump for full coverage. A tip is to do a section of the face at a time. I place a dot on both cheeks, the nose, chin and forehead. Anothet tip is to make sure your face is moisturized and primed first!
I just ♥ this foundation so much and hope this helps someone!
And this lasts atleast 15 hours of wear.... :-D

So, I changed my primer. I read someone saying that they got the best results with the foundation while also using the Kat von d primer. I tried it, and I don't create anymore. I've used it with my other foundations and that stuff is amazing. So if you haven't tried that, try it.

using Kats primer makes a huge difference with the foundation application. That or any hydrating primer. I'm a dryer skin type and I still love it. Less is definitely more and sectioning out so you don't over use is also a great suggestion. Love the foundation and Kat Von D raved about it before it launched even she was so excited about it :)
