How do you recommend wearing lip liner alone? I know a lot of people do it, and I've always been a lip liner+lipstick kind of girl. Wearing it bare just makes my lips feel dry and the color doesn't reach my inner mouth/rim. How do you recommend wearing it alone?

If you want your lipstick to last all day then you can wear it all by it self and if it feels dry then you should put lip gloss on after.

I sometimes wear a liner with a gloss over the top, which helps with the drying and if you use a tinted gloss, it will cover that inner part of your mouth that doesn't get liner on it. It's a great technique for pulling a nude, pouty lip. My favorite lip liners to wear on their own are Rimmel Exxagerate (Eastend Snob is a great nude) because they are slightly creamy, go on without tugging my lip and because they are a roll up pen you never have to sharpen them. I just really hate it when a lip liner runs out of gas and you tug on your lip with wood part. OUCH.

I've never had a problem with it drying out my lips, nor it looking dry, while wearing lip liner. However I am always moisturizing them and religiously exfoliate so I keep my lips in good shape. If you feel it's too dry maybe add a clear gloss or Chapstick over.

I do what Jenny does as well, my favorite combination is the Urban Decay Lip Liner in Naked with Stila Lip Glaze in Grapefruit over the top.
I think it's also pretty easy to pick a lip liner that you like and then go over the top of it with a colorless lip balm. If you want to keep it matte, try the Nuxe Reve de Miel which has a really matte texture to begin with so it won't interfere with the actual finish of your liner.

It dries out lips when I only wear liner so I add a layer of Vaseline or Chapstick on top of the liner.

I do
I either put on lip balm underneath or I wear it with a gloss
