Do your nails need to be a certain length to get shellac?

I don't want to keep getting a full set of gels nails done here, but my natural nails are very brittle and break easily, plus I have a bad biting habit.
I'd rather just get shellac done because it's cheaper, not as hard on the nails, and is stronger than just nail polish.
But I'm not sure if you need your nails a certain shape or length to get them done. I'd say mine are a pretty normal length at the moment; just slightly past my finger tips. A have a few cracks on the tips I'm trying to not rip so I can keep the length.

No! for homecoming I went and got mine done shellac, and they were so short.. if yours are past your finger tips then that is perfectly enough length! they will even shape the nails for you if you need! plus, the shellac will help your nails grow because it's hard to bite them, and it keeps them protected. just out of experience, do not rip the shellac off because it damaged your nails really bad. just soak your nails in pure acetone and they should come right off! :)
