I have thick wavy hair. I use a lot of sheer sprays. Like Garnier fructis style glossing spray or anti-frizz by phytolisse. I hate to suggest the second one because I haven't seen it in stores. So it maybe online. But the serum is awesome and you just need small amounts to smooth your hair.

I agree with Meagan try to find a serum that helps add shine and frizz, I would like to add using a shampoo and conditioner maybe a leave in conditioner that helps as well. If you blow dry and straighten your hair use a heat protectant

What straightener are you using? A lot of straighteners just don't have the power to straighten dry, frizzy curly hair well. My favorite when I straightened my hair was the Chi - pricey but it lasted me 10ish years of pretty regular use. I also suggest straightening in small pieces and using a comb to brush through the piece while straightening.

I have similar hair to yours. What kind of straightener are you using? Once I invested in a high quality straightener mine looked healthier after straightening than it did. Look up My Pretty Hair is Parched shampoo and conditioner - I swear I'll never use anything else. It's made my hair soft and shiny (which like you is a challenge with how thick and coarse it is!) as for thinning it, all you can do is get it thinned out by a stylist or adding layers.
