I would stay away from diy facials as they contain a lot of harsh things. I recommend just going to the store and buying some, as they aren't that expensive.

Lemon and honey is a good facial or lemon itself

Sorry guys I didn't mean like home products! I meant like actual drug store products but doing it at home! Instead of a spa. Like what products would I use? And what would I do? E.g steam? Moisturise?

Don't put lemon on your face, surely you know not to do that. I recommend almost any Freemans mask. & I love Simple Cleanser, it's amazing. Clean and clear has a great blackhead scrub. I haven't tried any steam except from the shower. Jergens has a great cucumber moisturizer that I've fallen in love with.

I did too, it didn't do anything but irritate my face.

Cleanser- use a mild cleansing agent to clean any excess product or dirt off of the skin and remove makeup
Toner- tone the skin to balance it before your treatment, you can use your fingers or a cotton pad
Mask, or exfoliator- depending on what kind of facial you would like to give yourself pick what treatment you'd like on your face. I recently just did the Cara warming pumpkin chemical exfoliator and it was absolutely lovely
Toner- once again tone the face to ensure PH balance, and make sure your skin doesn't freak out after treatment
Serum- optional, but I personally love repair serum or something of the sort under my moisturizer NOTE- this will never replace your face cream
Moisturizer- of course apply a proper emollient to return any nutrients to the skin and protect your moisture barrier

Throughout this whole process since you will be touching your face so much ensure your hands are VERY clean and work outwards on the face (nose outwards, and then down wards) because that is the direction in which your face gets rid of toxins and you don't want to interrupt it, but encourage it. Working opposite to this cycle commonly causes breakouts and irritation.

You can also look into how to give a proper facial massage I absolutely love giving myself facial massages

Britanny- thank you so much! Exactly the answer I was looking for! What do you reckon for a facial mask after
Exfoliating thanks all xx

You're welcome.

Not a problem! Nothing better than an at home facial lol! And I really like the Cara line for masks and deep exfoliators:)

What skin issues do you have? You'll want a different mask for acne vs dark spots vs dryness or anti aging.

I like lush face masks they have a good variety for all different skin types. I normally cleanse my face like normal. Then I steam my face for 2-3 minutes, I add one of the lush toner tabs they sell for like 2 dollars to the boiling water and steam with a towel over my head. Then I apply whatever mask I'm using. After I'm done and wash off the mask I use a toner my vitamin c serum and moisturize.

Be careful with the lemon though!! Be sure to completely take it out before going into the sun.
