I'm getting Botox on the 18th. I'm 31 years old with 3 kids. I'm curious if you've had Botox, how many units you've got, and if you like it!

I'm 31 and have been getting Botox for about 3 years. I love it but it is expensive and addicting. When it wears off the wrinkles comes back and I go again. I get my forehead and between my brows done. I pay $11 unit and my bill is usually $325-350. I don't do much as I still want to appear natural. Always start off with a little, you can always go back and add more. But you can't undo too much Botox right away. Mine usually lasts 4-6 months. To me it isn't painful, make sure you go to someone who is experienced. Cheaper isn't always a good thing when it comes to fillers and Botox.

I'm following this, because I've just been approved to start a trial of Botox for medical reasons. It's a semi-last resort in the protocol for management of severe, intractable complicated migraine. I will receive 31 injections at each visit and while shots don't bother me, I do worry about how much $ my insurance will still hold me responsible for. And I'm interested in side effects -- even beauty related ones. But when you add up lost pay from missing work, it'll probably be a wash.

Tina does botox help with migraines? My bf suffer from severe migraines and get a lot of pills for it, maybe we could talk to a doctor about botox it that helps!

I've had botox for headaches for about 5 years. I basically never get a headache anymore. Sometimes less than 1 every 3 months! There are a ton of injections though and it's not pleasant. I've been getting it separately for my crows feet for 1.5 years as they don't inject in that area for headaches. It is so worth it! I've found topical anti aging stuff not helpful at all for wrinkles and with Botox they are completely gone about a week later. Tina, you shouldn't need to miss work for Botox injections for headaches besides the time of the doctors visit. I've gone on my lunch break and gone right to work after (for medical and cosmetic Botox). It's not obvious you've had anything done at all for me. If you did have a little mark from the injection, make up would easily cover it up.

I'll be 27 the end of next month and I started with botox in August 2014 I've had deep lines on my forehead since about 24 and I get 20 units in my forehead and I've done it twice since August 2014 I don't find it lasts very long on me I get 3-4 good months out of each time I'll be going for my 3rd round in April. It's made such a huge difference for my forehead and I don't look surprised all the time actually never my eyebrows just don't move up, I love it my 20 units cost me $269 but each time I go I earn points towards my brilliant disctinctions account it's a reward program for fillers so depending on what I do I get between $20-$40 off my visits with that you just sign up online.

Thank you, Maggie. I meant that I have a lot of absences at work due to the migraine condition, so lost pay from missing work would probably balance out what I have to pay out of pocket. I know the Botox manufacturers offer a "coupon" towards out of pocket expenses not covered by medical insurance.
I'm really glad to hear it's been so successful for you, Maggie. My Neuro said patients can drive afterwards, return to work, etc. right after a treatment. However, he advises against wearing makeup before or after a treatment and no exercise that day. That's my only excuse he'll grant me for not exercising. Lol. He's incredibly dreamy and wickedly funny, I'll suffer any discomfort at his hands. Lol!
Some side effects he said could be a slight brow droop as well as neck pain, but I'm sure it's different because of injection sites and dosages.
Sabrina, hit me up on my profile and I'll share what I've learned! I've hijacked this thread big time.
Sorry, beauties!

I got Botox last November and I go again this Monday. I LOVED the results!! I got it around the sides of my eyes because when I smiled it would crinkle soooo much and make my makeup messy. I was so pleased with it. As far as headaches, my husband is a dentist and at his old practice in our old city he used to give Botox and many patients got it for headaches, including my husband. I don't have personal experience with that but I've always heard that it helps! And I wish I had Jennifer C's doctor! My doctor charges $14 per injection/unit!
