Soooo I got super bored last night while everyone was sleeping and so I started playing with makeup...I attempted to make my lips fuller like a lot of people have seen Kylie jenner do...it didn't turn out as horrible as I thought it would but I don't think I would leave the house!

Anyway what's your guys' opinion on the overdrawn lips?? Do you do it yourself? Or do you think this trend should go away? What trends are you on the fence about thinking maybe it looks good on others but you dislike it on yourself?? go!

I've never been interested in Kylie Jenner lips. I don't like how obviously overdrawn and fake they are and I don't like the color but that's just my opinion. I think if someone wants to overdraw their lips then that's fine but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. I've never tried overdrawing my lips simply because I don't think I need to, my lip shape and how full they are is absolutely fine to me.

That being said, I do like the lip color you used (:

Thanks! I look at her lips and to me it doesn't look bad I guess. But I just think there had to have been surgery involved! My lips are thin on the top and I would like to have a larger top lip but I think it looks very fake! And It took me almost a half hour to get it to the point in the picture definitely wouldn't leave the house!

Totally agree with Alexis! Coming from a person with full lips, I can't understand why people want fuller lips. Its nothing special lol. But if one chooses to do it then that's fine too. But I must say I love that lippie on you :-)

Thank you! It wasn't that I was trying to change my appearance as much as I got bored and thought I would give it a shot and turns out it was a lot harder than I ever thought it would be!

I like how they turned out but like you I wouldn't go out with them, it's something you try and take off lol!
What products did you use, if you can remember? :)
And another trend that I don't like on myself are the super popular "instagram brows", which can look good in pictures on some people, just not on me :)

Personally I don't like it, and I don't like how people keep giving her credit with the tend.People have been over drawing their lips for a while now its been a trend longer than she wad born especially in drag make up. But I do like the colour

Instagram brows what's that breeze and it's a NYC lipstick I'll go look for the color as it was super late and I didn't remember

I don't believe they look bad on you. but honestly I don't like the trend it looks sloppy to me. I have full lips and I don't understand why people are so eager to have them.

Great thanks! I think I have that lipstick then :)
Instagram eyebrows are a trend where the eyebrow has a "fade" look to it in the front, with a sharp tail and often is outlined with concealer. It's a technique borrowed from drag makeup, so obviously it's made to look really fake. A lot of people love it, it's just not my cup of tea :)

Breeze, I am with you on the Instagram brow! I never understood the appeal, they just look so fake and like stickers. I very much prefer a natural looking brow.

Not a fan. I like the color, though

Oh, I've seen those! It's not the one I have, mine was a single one but the color looks the same!

I actually quite like the lips on you. I agree with Breeze, I don't like the look of Instagram brows. I'm also on the fence about extreme contouring, especially for everyday wear but I think that's because I've never seen it in person, it looks lovely in photos but I can't imagine it looking good face to face with someone if you get what I mean

I hate overdrawing lips, it looks good on some people but overall I don't like it. Although, I think I do it a lot because where my skin turns into my lips is hard to distinguish and kind of fades and if I don't cover it all up it looks like I left out part of my lip and I intentionally sharpen my Cupid's bow for dramatic effect. As for the Instagram brow, I hate it so much! Especially when people try and tell me "it's the right way" because as Breeze pointed out, it's adopted from drag makeup (and there is no right way of doing makeup really). Personally I hate the fade at the front, and then they use this shimmery white powder to highlight it or don't blend out their concealer and it is so cringe worthy.
Personally, I don't think your lips look overdrawn and I like them :)

I like the color! I think for me color is everything. I don't like the over drawn effect really on anyone. But I think the color is very pretty on you. It's something different that you don't see often.

I totally hate overdrawn lips, but yours look fine :)

I don't really care either way on the overdrawing of lips but I'm with Alexis on the right way and wrong way to do it! An overdrawn lip can look great if it's done correctly (and not overboard) and yours looks great! And I love the color. Also, I'm totally with the girls on the eyebrows and contour, I just can't make myself like those trends!! :p.

I think it looks nice and natural on you, plus I love the color! But in general I feel it's good for pictures, where you can control the angles, and doesn't look so good in real life. I also don't like Instagram brows, but even more I dislike ones that have a really harsh, boxy front! I've never seen it in person, but I feel like the super glowy, heavily applied highlight look would be very weird and shiny/oily-looking in person.

I don't like overdrawn lips, instagram brows or extreme contouring at all. I do however like kylie's lipstick and lipliner choices I'm happy that the 90's lip has come back. I much prefer a natural brow minus the harsh concealer underneath. As far as contouring I prefer a minimalistic approach where it looks natural.

I've loved reading this thread! I personally don't like overdrawn lips because it looks really obvious, but that depends how overdrawn they are. I do actually over draw my lip but that's because they are uneven, one side is fuller than the other! And I also do not have a cuspids bow so I like to create a little one. But small adjustments like that are barely noticeable in my opinion.
As for IG brows, I haven't ever seen them in real life so I can't comment, but I actually love the way they photograph!
I am also so over contouring!! Especially when you have a block of brown on your cheek bone!!

Lol I think the harsh contouring looks bad on anyone. It may photograph well but in person I think they tend to look dirty! I love countouring get me wrong without it I would have no cheekbones but as for the harsh like where you can see the translation it's a big NO! My brows are horrible but I'm glad I don't have the instabrows lol! Thanks for the feedback guys!
