I have a naturally round/chubby face and the only thing that has "slimmed" it down was losing weight. (Not that I'm suggesting that) now that I am older and more confident with myself, I really love my chubby cheeks because it makes me look younger :) other than that, you could try some different contouring techniques and whatnot.

I'm not sure about make up other than contouring but I've read that deep hair parts are supposed to help make your face look a bit less round. I can totally relate with the self hate though, I feel like my face (especially cheeks) makes me look a lot heavier than I am :( I haven't really found any solution but people always tell me my face shape makes me look young. I guess that'll be good news when I'm a grandma lol. I think the best thing we can do about it is embrace it and realize that others don't see us the way we see ourselves. And think about women who are aging, they're always looking for ways to plump their face and increase the facial volume they have lost. At least we'll have an advantage on them :)

I have quite chubby cheeks too! I think it makes us look younger, so that's a plus, or it will be anyway!
A center part in your hair will make it look slimmer, contouring the sides of your face could help too, as you already said.
As for eyeshadow, go big! I noticed that I look slimmer when I make my eyes visually bigger, but I'm sure it's different for everybody. Play with different eyeshadow styles, take lots of pictures at the same angle and try to see which picture makes you look slimmer.
I also noticed a big difference when I wear mascara on my bottom lashes, it's just a very good trick for me!
All I'm going to say about your self-hate for your chubby face is: learn to embrace it! It may not seem like a good thing now, but in the future you'll be thankful for it! On my dad's side everyone has a chubby face and they don't have any wrinkles, even in their late fifties! And now while you're young it can make you look much cuter!

I don't have any makeup tips but do know a little about negative self thoughts. When we label ourselves with words that have a negative connotation we start to internalize and believe them. Maybe try labeling yourself as beautiful when you look in the mirror.
