Are your breakouts occurring where you usually experience a breakout or a new area?

I've read a lot on here and heard a lot from clients that would indicate they are very misinformed about skin purging. I feel a lot of people think anytime they use a new product or change their diet or use a clarisonic and break out they are experiencing their skin purging. Of course, unless I'm treating someone in person and can understand their skin more I can't guarantee what exactly is happening. Skin purging is usually caused by active ingredients that increase cell turnover (ahas, bhas) Your clogged pores can come to a white head as well as other symptoms like redness and inflammation. Purging occurs more if your prone to clogged pores because they reach the surface earlier than they would if you didn't use products with active ingredients like glycolic acid. Another way to tell is the length of how long the breakouts last, purging will usually go away sooner than the symptoms from just breaking out.

You're welcome, anytime! Hopefully it clears up soon for you, I've never experienced acne other than maybe one papule that time of the month so I don't personally understand how annoying it can be but most of my clients deal with breakouts & I know it's frustrating to not know why it's happening.
