I know that proactive does but I'm not sure about specific ingredients. I'm sure one of the ladies here who are big on skincare may know :)

There's a fine line on that one... because it all depends on what brand and what the product contains.
For example, The scent of lavender oil provides aroma therapy.. and it being 'natural' makes it all the more appealing. I've seen products marketed for 'sensitive, acne prone skin' with it's main base being Lavender Oil and some harsh solvent alcohols.
Unfortunately, all fragrance whether they are synthetic or natural is harmful to the skin. Fragrance causes both irritation and free radical damage. Irritation is what creates more acne and increases oil production in the skin.
A lot of harmful ingredients are added to those products to please us, and no one really tells us to go buy a book on skin care before we get into skin care. All it takes is some marketing and bam, you've paid $70.00 for what is mineral oil, alcohol and fragrance.
Ingredients to avoid are:
Fragrance, Parfum, or any other version of the word they come up with including fragranced oils
Solvent Alcohols ( Not fatty alcohols )
Denatured Alcohol
Alcohol Denat
SD Alcohol
Benzyl Alcohol
Isopropyl Alcohol
Ethyl/ Ethanol Alcohol
Methyl/ Methanol Alcohol
Solvent alcohols are typically added for the feel of a fast absorbing product.
Other ingredients which are not harmful but can create clogged pores
Mineral Oil
Silicone ( cone or xane ending ingredient names are silicones )
Ethylhexyl palmitate
Sodium Laurel/Laureth Sulfate
Cocoa Butter
Petroleum ( Vaseline )
Lanolin
Oils that are typically comedogenic
Olive Oil
Coconut Oil
Grape Seed Oil
Peanut Oil
Almond Oil
Castor Oil
Avocado Oil
Sunflower Oil
Everyone's skin has a different rate of tolerance. I can easily use avocado oil without concern, however coconut oil will break me out. Hopefully the above list will help you understand ingredients a bit better. :)

This is true with many products even with lotions and lip balms. It's how the business well... stays a business unfortunately we end up being the human guinea pigs. The purest thing you can use for your face is a bar of Dove original soap (keeping it in a case so no germs get on it because this bar is only for your face which is super sensitive) and a good organic moisturizer or Ponds Skin Cream. Xoxo 💋 hope this helped!
