I have super dry skin and dry patches which my foundation clings on, and people on here have said that exfoliating should help.. But how do I exfoliate? Lol sorry I am so dumb.

I make my own scrub! You probably have these in your kitchen! I use sugar, brown sugar and olive oil! Then just rub on your kin and wash off!

I make a scrub similar to Liz, except I don't use brown sugar:)

You can try buying an exfoliating scrub. I would avoid diy exfoliators, because some ingredients can be hard on your skin.

Baking soda is harsh on your skin, sugar is the better option.

You can make a exfoliating face scrub, or use a scrubbing brush made to exfoliate. I got a facial the other day and my skin has never felt better!

Algenist Multi-Perfecting Detoxifying Exfoliator is amazing. I always had the same problem with foundation. I would try diy scrubs and they never worked as well as this. Makes my foundation and skin look 1000000 times better

You can exfoliate with oats too.

Do not use baking soda or sugar on your face! Baking soda is too alkaline and affects our skins pH level. Doing this will damage the skins acid mantle which can cause breakouts from bacteria. Sugar can be used on the body if done correctly but the skin on our face is a lot thinner and can scrape our epidermis which once again can cause bacteria to get in. Oatmeal like Hannah said is ok for the skin, but other than that I'd stay away from DIYS unless you consult with an esthetician or dermatologist. A lot of people recommend products on here that are not healthy for the skin. You may not notice an adverse reaction right away but it doesn't mean it's not damaging your skin.

Gosh thank you Sarah, I knew baking soda was bad but I didn't know about sugar and I was honestly about to try it because I'm so clueless when it comes to exfoliating. Thank you :)
