My nails are always too short! How do I grow them.

Keeping them healthy is your best bet! Try and keep polish to a minimum, and use a good base coat when you do! Using non acetone nail polish remover might also be a good idea. When you file your nails, make sure to only go in one direction, otherwise it can weaken your nails. Keeping your cuticles healthy can also help out your nails. Find yourself a good cuticle cream and put it on once or twice a day. Also, don't cut your cuticles, try and gently push them back instead.

Also, make sure your eating healthy and drinking enough water! If you're diet isn't good, your nails won't be either!

I would ask first why are they short? Do you bite them or do they break a lot? If you bite them my suggestion from experience is keep them painted and really cute. So you don't want to throw away all the effort you put into them. If they keep breaking I suggest OPI's nail envy, and again use lots of polish, a thick top coat, you need to keep them filed in an oval shape which is ridiculously resistant and finally if one starts to break..

If one starts to break apply your base routine, then apply nail glue on the spot you need, then put a tiny piece of toilet paper and put more glue on top of it. File it to make it flat again, and proceed to paint your nails. You should do nail art to distract the eye from the lil unevenness you'll get there but you'll get to keep growing your nails ;)

If they're prone to breakage nail strengtheners and lots of polish will make them stronger but also tends to make them less flexible, so a hard hit will make them break off. Cuticle and nail creams with jojoba oil (you can even use straight jojoba oil) are good for strengthening and adding flexibility, so when they're knocked they'll bend rather than snap. Be warned though, it can stain them slightly yellow.

Bragg's Premium Nutritional Yeast, a natural vitamin B complex. I've tried everything else cited. This is First time I've had healthy strong and Very Long nails since I was a teen. After 50 they got worse! Finally, after 10 years of nothing to polish, I have long, strong healthy, resilient nails. And, ALWAYS use a base coat to protect them! Many salons don't.
