I have some very ugly old selfharm scars that I have been hiding for years, I never get a chance to wear shorts or t-shirts. But this year for New Years my boyfriend got me this sexy skimpy dress, and I would love to wear it. The scars are purpley pink-ish. So foundation doesn't cover well. And I need some full proof long lasting ideas. Thanks (:

Hard candy full converge concealer is said to cover tattoos, so I'm sure it would cover that too :)

Sally Hansen makes a leg airbrush lotion I think it will work its water resistant too

I've always struggled with this problem ((three cheers for the survivors!)) but I find if you find and nice cheap pantyhose from Target or Wal-Mart you can cover the scars nicely on your legs and also look very sleek and sexy. :) Also, try accessories if you wish to cover your arms! Love bangle bracelets and some clunky silver ones would accent this dress nicely :o)

If the scars are really dark you could try using a color correcting concealer and then patting a concealer over it that matches your skin tone (or use a little foundation over it to match your skin tone). Hope this helps! Stay strong =)

I have a few on my legs and tights usually cover them up, nobody ever gets close enough to your legs and if they do they might pass off as stretch marks, not great but easier than telling the truth. For long term have you tried something called bio oil or there might be another brand where you live, im pale and all my scars were really purple but they've faded to a barely there pink now. Glad its all behind us ladies xx

Okay, the dress is really pretty! And I understand the self harm thing! I used to do something SOMEWHAT similar (not stating what it is) and my scars from that are also pinkish purple! My mom used an de-aging thing if you know what I mean!

Thanks Alice H.! Just bought some tights for my legs, and anti aging cream, along with green concealer and hard candy camo concealer! Thanks to you all. This is going to be great.

I have the same problem. My scars are now completely healed, but they are very raised, so makeup does not cover them for me. I find that opaque tights/leggings will cover them though. Sometimes in the right light you can still see bumps, but hopefully no one else is looking that close! xD

Mederma (I think I butchered that) it works wonders to heal scars! I had some on my arms from this skin condition I had when I was little and they are completely gone as well as some on my legs from playing hard as a kid you just have to make sure you use it everyday

I love MACs face and body foundation. It is water proof so it saved my legs this summer with those beach pics. I'm sure you could find a shade that would blend with your skin tone while still covering discoloration due to scarring. I like it oppose to dermablend or thicker concealers because of its fluid texture, it gives a skin-like appearance.

I second the sally Hansen airbrush can leg makeup. I have tons of self injuorous scars over my entire body. when I was a dancer it was important to cover them AND have it stay in place and never rub off on the client. what I would do was do extremely light layers, last each layer dry completely before applying next. when I reached desired coverage, very lightly set with very light application of sheer powder. Finish with hairspray...yep, hairspray. good luck and have fun!
