I just wanted to know if becoming a VIB gives any real added benefits? From what I understand the difference isn't that much. Any insight would be appreciated!

I haven't seen a big difference. When I got vib I was given a bunch of coupons. I used 2 of them. I can't say I've gotten a pre release notices. The in store free bee's still suck. of course someone else may completely love it. I think Ulta Platinum is 10x's better. xo.

ULTA's rewards are far better. Those points earned translate to $$$ off and last year I amassed $120 bucks and still building onto. So when I decide to redeem it I won't have to dip into my wallet.

If anything you get invited to special events if your store holds them. When sales come around you get more money or percentage off your purchase. But those are rare opportunities and some people miss them because sephora only really advertises through mail or email

It's not that big between VIB n not VIB but I hear VIB rouge is a lot better.

I personally think you have to be dedicated to enjoy the VIB status... as in you check Sephora online every day for new product releases, enjoy getting make overs from Sephora, Order online etc. And have a really good Sephora that caters to events and giving out samples
I'm pretty sure the Ulta rewards are a lot better! My ulta is crappy though and never have anything... actually the shelfs are usually empty for almost every brand not even Nyx >.<
I have VIB Rogue and its just meh... I really wish my Ulta was good as I wouldnt mind getting cash back plus save me gas money and time.

I agree with Kitty. While I love my coupons, VIB is geared toward bringing you into the store for "free" opportunities and events simply designed to draw more customers) "Bring a guest" or sell you more products. You would have to constantly engage them to reap makeovers, events, sales, etc. Ulta indeed has the better reward program. My Ulta is always low on stock, but the web has helped out with that immensely.

Like everyone else I've noticed no difference.

I love the little rewards you can get with the Beauty Insider program in general but I never saw much of a difference with any of the levels. I do think whatever level you get free shipping at is the best thing they offer. But as someone else mentioned, most of the Rouge level involves invites to special in store events. Which is essentially useless to me because I don't have a store close by me and do all of my ordering from Sephora online, so for me its moot.

Thank you for all of your input. I'm an ulta platinum member and love it. They send 20% off coupons that can be used on the high end brands, as well as, money off for points earned. It's a shame they don't carry all the brands I like because I would be exclusively there if they did.

It's better for the birthday gifts.. but not worth it in my opinion. (:
