Here in Italy, we celebrate Carnevale (which ends on the day of Mardi Gras) with actual costumes like Halloween but without the spookiness! I'll be posting my look as soon as I know when we're going to celebrate, I'm super excited!

Breeze that's cool! When I went to Europe many moons ago lol this German family said they had something similar to Mardi Gras too but I can't remember the name ugh. What all do y'all do and how long does it last?

In Germany it is Karneval, and is celebrated similarly to the Italians. They wear masks and play practical jokes on each other, and of course eat as much food (particularly sweets) as possible.
I'm actually baking a king cake right now, haha. Nobody in California really celebrates Shrove Tuesday, so I'm in charge of educating my friends. ;) Last year I had my mask on and went to the pharmacy, and people were asking me if I was going to a masquerade ball or something. *sigh*
