Will a blow drier damage your hair as much as a flat iron? what's your opinion/experience on that? I'm about to invest in a good blow drier because I prefer to straighten my hair with that when it comes to volume. I'm just not sure about the damage.

Well I am not a professional but my opinion and experience is that a flat iron is worse on my hair...

A blow drier causes less damage to the hair then a flat iron.

Blow dryer can be less damaging especially using the cold setting.

Yeah, as the girls said, it can be less damaging. It's not direct heat on the hair. However, it's still safe to put a heat protectant on, of course

Yes yes :) can you recommend a good.heat protectant Renay?

Actually, if you use a good flat iron, it can be far less damaging than a blow drier. With a good quality flat iron, you can go over each section of hair only once, and not have to do it again, whereas with a blowdrier you have to keep the heat on your hair for an extended period of time. Either way, as long as you use a heat protectant and take good care of your hair, there is no reason to worry about heat styling.

I have up straightening with a flat iron 14 months ago and started blowdrying instead and my hair has started growing healthier and faster (with straightening it didn't grow at all)

I like three. One 'n' only argon oil spray, the Chi heat protectant, and Tresemme. :)

Hannah do you recommend the chi elite straighteners as a good straightener? thats what I have thats why I'm wondering

Brianna I have the chi and it works amazing honestly.
it's the best straightener I have used.

Brianna, I liked Chi products until I got a Croc. In comparison, Chis are absolutely awful. Crocs are so, so much better, they're easier to work with, have awesome temperature controls, and they have titanium plates which are better for your hair to begin with. They leave my hair so much more smooth and shiny, and they're just so much easier to work with...sigh, they're beautiful.

It depends on what styling tools you use. Choose the technology they use like ceramic, tourmaline or titanium. These make your hair anti-freeze, shiny and breakage free. They emit negative ions when heated, neutralizes the the positively charged electrons (which cause by heat damage, harsh chemicals and static electricity. Elements like ceramic and tourmaline are good for thin to thick hair and good for regular use. Titanium is good for thick to coarse hair and is for professional use. Now, don't be fooled by these elements that are widely use by any brands cos some of them are only coated. Make sure it is 100% ceramic. Washing and using right hair products play a big part for your hair. Use paraben free shampoos or conditioners. Do not style hair when it's wet. Do not dry hair vigorously with a towel as it creates static electricity and frizz. And do not wash your hair everyday.
I use the Sultra for styling my hair. I have the clipless iron and the flat iron. Reason why it's because they have the technology that I need for my hair. Yes, they're expensive but it's all worth it. It saves me $$ in the long run.

How much are crocs? I rarely straighten my hair but maybe if I had a straightener that basically worked so well maybe I will start again I love my hair straight its just a kot of work lol.

Blow dryer defiantly give your less damage but more frizz vs. a flat iron that gives more damage and less frizz.

Brianna, sorry doll, didn't see your question. Croc irons are about the same as Chis, actually, depending upon what size you get. My 1.5 inch one was $140 from Ulta and my 1 inch one was $100 on sale from drugstore.com. They're absolutely perfect. And the thicker one gets all my hair (extensions and everything) straightened in less than an hour.

Because I use both often I've invested in good quality for both. make sure to use heat protection.
