So here's a little background about my hair. I have naturally thick dark brown hair. It's usually very oily near the roots and is usually damaged on the bottom. The past couple years I've had highlights then went back to dark brown, then had highlights again last summer and I tried going to a rich darker brown with red. The colour always washes out within like 1-2 weeks and I swear I can't get the highlights to fully go away. I usually wash my hair everyday (I know it's bad) but my hair gets so oily everyday and I can't find a good dry shampoo. I usually straighten my hair everyday. My hair is naturally straight but I straighten it very quickly just to get any weird wavy parts out. I use Aveeno Shampoo for coloured hair with their conditioner. My problem is that I'm allergic to practically every shampoo or styling product out there except for Aveeno. I've bought hair masks but they break me out. I've tried using coconut oil as a hair mask but I find it very hard to get out of my hair and it leaves it greasy. I can never use a heat protectant because they make me break out. I usually allow my hair to air dry and I use this Aveeno leave in conditioner for dry hair. My hair has faded to this brown copper colour and I don't like it but I don't know what to do with my hair. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my hair from fading? Also how to prevent damage and dryness?

Have you tried a protein mask for your hair? You can also get protein sprays. It will help the cuticles hold color longer. And helps with. Damage. Try leaving a conditioner over night.

Egg can be used as a protein mask.

Definitely cut down on washing. Baby powder, corn starch can be used to absorb the oil if you're reacting to dry shampoo. If it's lasting power that you're concerned with, it may be your hair type. Most brands like Batiste make mini bottles so you can take one in your purse to touch up, and make sure to use as little as you can and then lightly shake your fingers through your hair.

Also, be sure to use a low setting on your flat iron and only go over the spots that need it.
