Is it better to condition my hair with coconut oil on dirty or clean hair?

A lot of sites I've read said to condition with clean hair, but I condition w/ dirty hair since I'm going to be shampooing all of it out. (I'm literally deep conditioning my hair with coconut oil as we speak, lol!)

I always do a mask before I wash my hair, that way it mixes with my natural oils.

Yeah dirty hair, because you're going to be washing it out anyways. Basically like what Isabel and Shanae said. Its better to have it with your natural oils rather than washing them out and replacing it.
