I just started using proactive today. Although my face isn't broken out very bad, I do have small bumps between my eyebrows and on my forehead, and in the crease of my chin, and on the sides of my nose. We've all seen the commercials for it but I want reviews from people who can say what they truly think. I have a few questions I would like answered but any other information would be great. Things I would like to know is have any of y'all tried proactive? How did it work for you? How bad was/is your acne? Also please tell me your skin type to, as I have combination skin but you could have dry, etc. What products from proactive did you order also? I'm just looking for a review! Thanks in advance to everyone:)

Proactiv never worked for me. I had slight to moderate acne with dry skin. All it did was dry me out even more, and not clear up one blemish. It was a huge disappointment. But everyone is different so I hope it works for you.

It worked for me! But I found that it stopped working a few months after I used it. So it worked then didn't, and when I tried again, it did the same thing. Like my face became immune to it. It frustrated me and I eventually just went to the Dermatologist because I figured they would know what's best. And it was the best decision I ever made! I have oily skin and my acne was enough to make me self-conscious but not horrible. Like I needed medium to full coverage but it wasn't like I had a lot of acne. I just had the three step and the green tea moisturizer and the mask. I definitely liked the mask/moisturizer the best!

although proactive might work (and how it basically works is by using the bleach to dry out your pimples and make them smaller and they eventually go away), it dries out your skin a lot as well as gradually making it lighter.
just throwing this in here- this is my opinion and this is how proactive worked and what it did for me.
my skin did end up becoming lighter and my acne sort of went away at first, but the more i used proactive, the less it worked. i never really bought any or used any of the free products from proactive. i ended up getting rid of proactive and switching just to a drug store cleanser. my skin is very oily, so the best way for my to get rid of my pimples is to just dry out my skin with other remedies. i now use burts bees cream cleanser and a exfoliator in the shower to wash my face and also any type of natural toner (that will dry out the pimples). for spot treatments i just used clean and clear spot treatment.
keep using proactive for the first month or so! like i said before this is just my advice and how i felt about it! i hope this helps you!

My cousin used it and it broke her out even more, and made the acne she had even worse. Everyone's skin is different so it might work for you.

Proactive has been one of the best products I have ever used. I used to have huge pimples all over my face but now I only have little bumps. Proactive has made my skin lighter like one of the comments in here said but just get out in the sun and it will tan again. I also wear makeup everyday so the lightness doesn't bother me but if you don't wear makeup you definitely need to tan your face. Proactive may dry out your skin so I switched to just used the deep cleansing wash and then the tone and repair and missing out the cleanser (step 1). This is how I get the best results and I use the deep cleansing wash to take off my makeup. This could be the complete wrong way to do it but it works. Also once a week I use a facial masque and it helps open the pores to let in the proactive chemicals. I definitely recommend you give it a try because every skin type is different :)

The same stuff that's in proactive is in a lot of OTC products. I've tried a ton due to acne. I think my biggest mistake was switching things up all the time. It just pissed my face off even more and made it angry and break out. If you use proactive maybe use it every other day with a neutrogena product in between. I recently started using dermalogica and love their stuff. I used all proactive products. The mask is nice. If I had a few pimples I would put it only on them and sleep with it on. In the morning they would look a lot better

Proactive has alot of ingredients that can be found in many over the counter products. The reason why it works for some is because most are consistent with the 3step process. In any skincare system using a step process will help your skin.Try http://www.skintactix.com/ it has more natural ingredients,is made by a biochemist and dermatologist, and has formulas for different "types" of acne.you can identify your type on their website.Hope that helps. :)
