Stay away from flavored lip balm's lip glosses and lip treatments. They encourage you to lick your lips which not only removes the treatment balm and product but takes away the moisture from the lip

Honey is an incredible Chinese remedy for skin and lips( if you don't like the taste of honey, try old fashioned patroleum jelly Vaseline)

1. Don't lick your lips/ eat your lip balm, saliva has enzyme that breaks things down
2. Use a good lip balm, my fav is carmex & Nuxe, but I find it varies person to person, many girls like babylips & they are super popular, I tried but they did nothing for me, my lips were chapped in 1 day, so it's try & error. Good luck.
